Top transfer deals of all time (part 3)

Emmanuel Adebayor

He transferred from Monaco to Arsenal in 2005 with a deal cost $5 million for 62 goals and 21 assists. It’s such a superb deal. Emmanuel Adebayor contributed to get Monaco reached the Champions League Final before being sell.

No matter how much Arsenal fans hate the Togo’s right now as he decided to transfer to Manchester City for various reasons, he was an incredibly good deal for the Gunners.

Wesley Sneijder

In 2007, Real Madrid signed Sneijder from Ajax for almost $40 million but he failed to completely establish himself just like many other players. Two years later in 2009, he moved to Inter Milan for just $22 million and start to become outstanding. The Dutch playmaker had an especially incredible year in 2010. In May, he contributed to get Inter Milan to win the Serie A and the Copa Italia. After that, he and the team got the 2009/2010 Champions League and reach the World Cup Final with Netherlands just one month later. For just $20 million, Inter Milan already got more than their money’s worth out of Sneijder, in just two years. The Italian club will have a big decision to make this summer whether to sell the playmaker and receive a huge sum, or to keep him. No matter what, they have got one of the best transfer bargains ever.

Robin Van Persie

Arsenal signed van Persie in 2004 from Feyenoord for $4.5 million although Feyenoord wanted around $7 million. Pity for them as they will now regret for allowing RVP to move for such a low fee.

Van Persie has been in superb form and scored 95 and has assisted 53 in 230 total appearances for Arsenal. However,

after injuries kept him out for most of the first half of the season, RVP was on fire for the second half to  scored 18 league goals, only two behind the leaders Carlos Tevez and Dimitar Berbatov (tied at 20).

Although Van Persie isn’t the most consistent players, he is one of the most profitable deal for the Gunners.
